NBA Muzzles Gun-Related Language
January 31, 2010 · By Joe Casino for JoeCasino.com
In response to recent controversy over a Nike print ad featuring Los Angeles Lakers’ star Kobe Bryant stating that he doesn’t “leave anything in the chamber” in reference to his toughness on the court, and in light of the recent suspensions of both Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton for having guns in the Washington Wizards’ locker room, the NBA has taken unprecedented action to protect the wholesome family-friendly image for which the league is known. In a statement issued by the NBA commissioner’s office, the act of launching the basketball toward the net will no longer be referred to as “shooting”. According to league... read the the whole damn story

Take Red Dog Poker For a Walk
December 14, 2009 · By Playa for JoeCasino.com
Red Dog is a form of poker that has been developed and adapted for casino play. It boasts a variety of nom-de-plumes, among them In-Between, Yablon and Acey-Deucey. It is played in land casinos at a table similar to the familiar Blackjack format, with a house dealer who does not participate in the hand. Each player at the table places an ante bet, and then is dealt two cards, which are face-up. Working in a clockwise direction, from left of the dealer, each player then decides to raise the bet or not, with the maximum raise being even money. If the player feels that there is a strong hand with a chance of improving it, the bet can be pushed. In doing so, they are entitled... read the the whole damn story

Binions Hotel and Casino to Close
December 4, 2009 · By Joe Casino for JoeCasino.com
Say It Ain’t So, Benny: Former Home of the WSOP to Close When the legendary Binion’s in Las Vegas begins shutting down their operations mid-December, they will be boarding up 35 years of World Series of Poker (WSOP) history. And while this landmark was surely showing signs of wear—the WSOP hadn’t been held there since 2004—Vegas has no tolerance for the aged and aging, unless of course they are sitting plunking quarters into a progressive slot machine. Most blame the economy. Las Vegas has seen room rates drop almost 25% this year, and rooms are still going empty. Casinos are reporting an 11% decrease in profits. The Sin City economy is wheezing... read the the whole damn story

Canada was an early participant in the creation of online casinos, with laws being passed in 1996 that regulated online gambling originating in its Mohawk Territory. This legislation helped... read the the whole damn story
