Three Las Vegas Sportsbook Favorites
Our Favorite Las Vegas Sports Books for NFL Football
We been doing the Vegas thing for a number of years and have seen a wide variety of the race and sports books in that town. From the old Castaways back in the day, to the recently imploded Stardust, to some of the newer nicer offerings on the Strip, Vegas remains one of our favorite places to watch and bet on football. Here are a few of the better Las Vegas sportsbooks that are our personal favorites on an NFL Sunday:
Las Vegas Hilton
The Las Vegas Hilton Superbook is one of the largest race and sports books in the entire state of Nevada and offers one of the most extensive betting menus to be found. They write their own lines in-house on virtually every sporting event imaginable, including all major American sports as well as a number of international events. We like it because the number of big screen TVs, including the monster 15 foot by 20 foot screen, make watching the games an awesome experience. And, with their 75-foot long odds ticker, scores and updates are easy to see from anywhere in the massive book.

Mandalay Bay
Mandalay Bay is one of our favorite hotels and casinos on the Strip for a number of reasons, not the least of which is their bad ass sportsbook. While a lot of other race and sports books in town have that “old man” stuffiness about them, the Mandalay sportsbook is high energy excitement, especially during football season. With room for 300+ sports fans and more than 80 television screens, including a 28’ x 30’ behemoth, there aren’t many better places to be on an NFL Sunday. Toss in the fact that they aren’t afraid to take big money action, and Mandalay Bay really stands out at the top of the Vegas sportsbook heap.

Mirage
Since first opening in the late 80s, the Mirage has been a big time player on the Las Vegas sports betting scene. While not the biggest sportsbook in town (just over 70 seats in the sportsbook area, just under 200 in the race book), the Mirage offers original lines on all major sporting events, including some of the better underdog prices to be found on MLB. It’s definitely cozy (read: small), but its location in the casino puts it right in the middle of all the action. Be sure to get in early on Sunday if you’re planning to catch the games, it fills up fast.
